CALCULATOR
This estimates gross income before taxes and deductions. Monthly figures use annual income ÷ 12 rather than assuming every month has exactly four weeks.
The correct conversion depends on how your pay is quoted. For hourly pay, first estimate annual income and divide it by 12.
A 52-week year averages about 4.33 weeks per month. Multiplying weekly pay by only four gives a lower monthly estimate. Using annual income ÷ 12 keeps the weekly, monthly, and yearly figures consistent.
| Starting pay | Monthly conversion |
|---|---|
| Hourly | Hourly × hours/week × weeks/year ÷ 12 |
| Daily | Daily × days/week × weeks/year ÷ 12 |
| Weekly | Weekly × weeks/year ÷ 12 |
| Biweekly | Biweekly × 26 ÷ 12 |
| Semi-monthly | Semi-monthly × 2 |
| Annual | Annual ÷ 12 |

Divide annual salary by 12. A $60,000 annual salary equals $5,000 in average gross monthly income.
Multiply weekly pay by the number of paid weeks in the year, then divide by 12. With 52 weeks, $1,000 per week equals about $4,333.33 per month.
