CALCULATOR

Calculate monthly income

This estimates gross income before taxes and deductions. Monthly figures use annual income ÷ 12 rather than assuming every month has exactly four weeks.

How to calculate monthly income

The correct conversion depends on how your pay is quoted. For hourly pay, first estimate annual income and divide it by 12.

Hourly to monthly income = Hourly wage × Hours per week × Weeks per year ÷ 12

Why not multiply weekly pay by 4?

A 52-week year averages about 4.33 weeks per month. Multiplying weekly pay by only four gives a lower monthly estimate. Using annual income ÷ 12 keeps the weekly, monthly, and yearly figures consistent.

Starting payMonthly conversion

DailyDaily × days/week × weeks/year ÷ 12
WeeklyWeekly × weeks/year ÷ 12
BiweeklyBiweekly × 26 ÷ 12

Example: $25 an hour is how much a month?

At $25 per hour, 40 hours per week, and 52 weeks per year, annual gross income is $52,000. Dividing by 12 gives an average monthly gross income of about $4,333.33.
