CALCULATOR
This calculator estimates piecework earnings and productivity from your inputs. It does not determine minimum-wage, overtime, or other legal pay requirements.
Piece-rate or piecework pay is based on output rather than simply multiplying hours by an hourly wage. The basic calculation multiplies completed units by the rate paid for each unit.
Completing 300 units at $1.50 per unit produces $450 in piece-rate earnings. If the work took 20 hours, the effective hourly rate is $22.50.
Divide completed units by hours worked. Productivity is useful when working backward from a desired hourly income to the unit rate needed.
Multiply the number of completed units by the agreed rate per unit.
Divide total piece-rate earnings by the hours worked.
Divide the target hourly income by the number of units you typically complete per hour.
A unit can be a piece, item, task, delivery, box, assembly, or another measurable unit used by the pay arrangement.
No. It provides arithmetic estimates only; applicable compensation requirements depend on the work arrangement and law.
